Your Face
How our faces have changed, old friend
Without the intervening years
witnessing transformations
I would walk right past you on the street
Your plump cheeks
lost
emptied out
folds of soft, stubbled skin remain
Those dark eyes
now pale
their look has softened
We have lost our elasticity
and so, our tautness
We have gentled into age
and I prefer us now
